Log 03: Life’s too short to be having a negative mindset.
We live in a day in age where technology allows us to be connected at all times, connected to our loved ones and to the outside world to places we’ve never set foot on.I personally can say that I have good friends till this day that I have made from some form of networking on social media and I am very thankful for them.Now today’s topic isn’t “friendship” but instead its about your mindset. Having acquaintances, close friends and family around you, does make up some of the happiness you should have in your life but what about if you are someone who has dealt with a tremendous amount of pain and suffering? Many have lost someone close to them, while others are having financial difficulties, its different for everyone, but I want you to know that everything is going to be alright and you can change how you feel today.
Being someone who has endured a fair amount of stress and anxiety on the course of my 24 years of life, I can say that too many of the days that I woke up to where dark and gloomy.It was as if no matter the day of the week, the month in the year my mind was set by default to be sad, down and depressed. I realized that most of it was caused by secretly dealing with OCD and its symptoms.I had perfected myself at disguising my true emotions, but deep down I was stuck in a dark place, yet I never saw the light on the other end of the tunnel. I realized that I was given one chance, one life to live and I was the author of my story, the captain of my sailboat and the scholar of my dreams.
Life is something you live once, you have to embrace everything that life provides. If you don’t like the job you currently have then quit it, start a business, do something but don’t stay somewhere that drains your soul at the thought of having to wake up early and be dragged to work “x” amount of hours. You are not a tree, you don’t have to stay living in a city that you aren’t growing in spiritually, financially,etc. The same concept applies to your mindset, if you are constantly dealing with stress and trying to manage your life through a telescope of fear and anxiety you will never be happy. The way you think about yourself and about the way you see the world says a lot about you. Its the judgment meter of you accomplishing your goals, being a successful person and living to your true potential in life. Start by changing your thoughts, educating yourself with true wisdom and you will see how much better life can get. I believe in you.
We become what we think about. And when we’re possessed by an exciting goal, we reach it. That’s why it’s been said,
“Be choosy, therefore, of what you set your heart upon. For if you want it strongly enough, you’ll get it.”
